Job Location
We are looking for a Cloud Reliability Engineer to our Berlin centre. You will be required to visit data centres, predominantly located on Brückenstr. 4, 10179 Berlin, DE
Visit German customers to assisting during DaDesktop On-premise cloud deployment (shall the Covid-19 situation allows).
Apart of that you can usually work from home.
Team
Your team is distributed worldwide. You will interact with System Admins (located in Poland and China), Developers (UK, Canada, China, India) and other team members distributed around the planet.
Responsibility
Your role is to assure uninterrupted operation of the servers between 8am and 8pm. This predominantly include:
- configuring new servers
- configuring network
- assisting customers in On-premise installation of DaDesktop Servers
- troubleshoot problems
Optional undertakings:
- Train customers and DaDesktop internal stuff how to use DaDesktop
- Deliver short corporate IT training courses
- Support consultancy engagements as required
Skills Required:
- Interest in software and hardware
- Good knowledge of Linux (Ubuntu)
- Networking in Linux and Routers
- Familiar with monitoring software like Zabbix
- Knowledge of how to avoid common types of security issues
Nice to have:
- Familiarity with reflinks, deduplication, KSM, KVM, LXC, ZFS, Angular, node.js, meteor, RAID.
- Cloud scalability, migration, modern backups (NVME/OPTANE) techniques.
