Agile Project Management in the Public Sector

This course is for aspiring, and current, Project Managers in the public sector, looking to understand agile project management.

The aim of this course is to provide a deeper understanding of agile project management and how it compares with traditional project management methods.  The course will explore some of the main agile methods, techniques and tools and show how they can be effective in project delivery, through a mixture of presentations, exercises and interactive activities.  

The course will also consider the latest guidance in the UK public sector around agile delivery and the GDS standard.
  
By the end of the course you should be able to:

• understand agile and what agility means in a business context
• explain Scrum, and understand how it can be used to deliver projects
• explain Kanban, and understand how it can be used to deliver projects
• describe different agile techniques that can support project delivery
• communicate the importance of teams in delivering agile projects 
• be aware of the GDS standard and its influence in UK public sector project delivery
