Overview:

Objectives:

  • This course aims to teach the knowledge and skills to plan and administer a Microsoft SharePoint 2019 environment, including how to deploy, administer, and troubleshoot SharePoint environment. This course also provides guidelines, best practices, and considerations that help to optimize SharePoint deployment.
Course Outline:

1. Introducing SharePoint - Identify the architecture and capabilities, new and deprecated features and deployment options of SharePoint;

2. Designing an information architecture - Explain how understanding business requirements drives the design of an organizational information architecture, describe the key components available in SharePoint to deploy an information architecture and Plan for discoverability as part of an information architecture deployment;

3. Designing a logical architecture - Map business requirements to SharePoint architecture components, explain the importance of documentation and describe the options for documenting the logical architecture;

4. Designing a physical architecture - Describe the requirements for the physical components that are needed for a SharePoint deployment, describe the requirements for the supporting components that are needed for a successful deployment, identify SharePoint farm topologies and map a logical architecture design to a physical architecture design;

5. Installing and configuring SharePoint — Install, deploy and configure SharePoint, script the installation and configuration of SharePoint and configure SharePoint farm settings;

6. Creating web applications and site collections - Create and configure web applications and site collections;

7. Planning and configuring service applications - Explain the key components and topologies for a SharePoint service application architecture, plan for service accounts and service application dependencies, understand the purpose of mapping service applications to business requirements and describe how to provision and manage SharePoint service applications;

8. Managing users and permissions, and securing content - Manage users and permissions and access to content in SharePoint;

9. Configuring authentication for SharePoint - Explain the authentication infrastructure of SharePoint, configure claims providers and identity federation and configure server-to-server authentication for SharePoint;

10. Securing a SharePoint deployment - Secure a SharePoint deployment at the platform level and configure farm-level security settings for a SharePoint deployment;

11. Managing taxonomy - Create and manage content types and content-type propagation, explain how to implement managed metadata in SharePoint web applications and site collections and configure the managed metadata service application in SharePoint;

12. Configuring user profiles - Configure the User Profile service application and manage user profiles and audiences;

13. Configuring Enterprise Search - Describe the search service architecture, configure the Search service and manage the search experience in SharePoint; and

14. Monitoring and maintaining a SharePoint environment - Develop and implement a monitoring plan for a SharePoint environment, tune and optimize a SharePoint server farm on an ongoing basis, plan and configure caching to improve the performance of a SharePoint deployment.
