This course is designed for individuals who are new to Minitab and want to learn the basics of statistical analysis using Minitab. No prior knowledge of statistics or Minitab is required.
This course will provide participants with a comprehensive introduction to Minitab, a powerful statistical software package used for data analysis and quality improvement. Participants will learn how to import, manipulate, and analyze data, as well as how to generate basic graphical displays of data. By the end of the course, participants will be able to use Minitab to perform basic statistical analyses, such as hypothesis testing and confidence intervals.
Session 1: Introduction to Minitab
- Overview of Minitab interface and menus
- Creating a new project and importing data
- Data manipulation and cleaning
Session 2: Descriptive Statistics
- Measures of central tendency and variability
- Graphical displays of data (histograms, box plots, scatter plots)
- Data transformations
Session 3: Inferential Statistics
- Hypothesis testing (one-sample t-tests, two-sample t-tests, ANOVA)
- Confidence intervals
- Nonparametric tests (Wilcoxon rank-sum test)
Session 4: Regression Analysis
- Simple linear regression
- Multiple regression
- Model selection and validation
Note: This course assumes that participants have a basic understanding of statistical concepts such as probability distributions, hypothesis testing, and regression analysis. However, the course is designed to be accessible to individuals with little to no background in statistics.
