Course Code: fbroptcsplicing
Duration: 14 hours
Prerequisites:
  • Experience in fiber optic installation
  • Basic knowledge of fiber optic tools

Audience

  • Technicians
Overview:

Fiber Optic Splicing is the process of joining two fiber optic cables together to create a continuous optical path for the transmission of light signals.

This instructor-led, live training (online or onsite) is aimed at beginner-level technicians who wish to learn splicing for different applications, including data centers, FTTH, and industrial environments.

By the end of this training, participants will be able to:

  • Understand the fundamentals of fiber optic splicing.
  • Demonstrate proper fiber handling and preparation techniques.
  • Operate the Fujikura splicer for fusion splicing.
  • Implement advanced splicing techniques.
  • Test and troubleshoot fiber splices using OTDR and power meter.

Format of the Course

  • Interactive lecture and discussion.
  • Lots of exercises and practice.
  • Hands-on implementation in a live-lab environment.
